UniBridge 2010

UB0203 DEVELOPING THE SKILLS OF ACADEMIC NUMERACY AND IT PRESENTATION 08TH APRIL 2010

WHAT’S BIG 4?
Big 4 is the title given for the 4 big & strongest clubs in BPL which consist of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. They are well known for their high quality performance and they always sit on the top 4 spot.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE THE BIG 4 PATTERN?
We want to investigate which clubs are the most favourable in our UniBridge group and see whether the pattern is still the same. I mean, Manchester United currently are the most favourable club in Brunei and maybe also worldwide. And as you can see from our survey result, Manchester United is still the most favourable club.

WHY THE 4 CLUBS?
Because it is currently the best and most favourable clubs in the world

WHY THE 4 PLAYERS?
Based on performance, they have the quality to represent each club that we choose

WHO WE SURVEY?
We only focused on our own UniBridge group

HOW WE DID THE SURVEY?
We made 6 simple questionnaires, print it out and let the UB’ians fill it out.

EXPLANATIONS:

MAIN OBJECTIVES
Overall trend or pattern:
• We want to investigate how many UniBridge students who’s interested in football
• Compare whether there are more male or female colleague interested in football
• To investigate which club and player is most favorable by the UniBridge students
1. Whether they are biased - where instead of looking on other clubs player quality, the students just choose them basically based on their interest to their only club players e.g. Man Utd fans will tend to choose players from their own club. This also goes the same with the others.

HOW DID WE FOUND OUT WHETHER THEIR INTERESTED OR NOT?
Instead of using a straight forward question like “are you interested in football?” we use “how often they watched football match” in which we assume that ‘always’ and ‘seldom’ as interested in football. On the other hand, if they tick ‘never’ in the question, we assume that they are not interested in football.
